Homemade Juices: Go for Avocado

Being a tropical country makes avocados abundant in the Philippines. Planters say that avocado season runs from May to September. But in my experience, our avocados in the backyard usually come out from August to September. It is one of the fruits that ripen during the rainy season along with rambutan and lanzones.

Since it is the avocado season right now, I have been including avocado in my juicing. For one, it has a lot of health benefits. Although most people say that it has high oil content, taking avocado in moderation provides good and healthy oil to the body. In fact, it’s recommended to those who want to lose weight because it’s rich in fiber, antioxidants, and low in carbs.

Here are some avocado-based recipes for juicing:

Avocado is also known as Persea americana or alligator pear. In Spanish, it’s called aguacate. It is said to have originated in Mexico. One of the most popular dishes made of avocado is guacamole.
