If you happen to be a Pokémon Go addict or a long-time fan of the Pokémon franchise, your Japan trip won’t be complete without visiting at least one Pokémon store. Where else to catch Pokémons but in the land where it all began!
Although Pokémon items seem all over Japan especially in Tokyo, visiting a Pokémon store still makes the difference. There are unique and seasonal items on sale in the shop from cute stuffed toys of all shapes and sizes to edible goods in kawaii packaging.
A note though, expect them to be a bit pricey since they are collectibles, Key chains that are stuffed toy type, for example, may cost 1,300 yen and above.
We were able to visit a Pokémon Store at Tokyo station. We got there by taking the JR Yaesu Underground Central Exit from Tokyo station.
To locate it further, note that it sits at Tokyo Character Street along with other character stores such as the Rilakkuma Store, NHK Store, Tamagotchi Store, etc.
This Pokémon Store at Tokyo station is the smallest one and so it tends to get jam-packed. In fact, during our visit, we could hardly move around and shop. However, it is one of the easiest to find and it is very accessible since it is inside the train station.
Plus, the Pikachu stuffed toy wearing a Tokyo Station uniform can only be found here!
Before heading back to Manila, we caught another Pokémon Store by accident. This one is at Narita International Airport Terminal 2. It’s located at the Airport Mall, 4th floor. Though it is also a small store, it is not as crowded as Tokyo Station’s.
