When in La Union: Thunderbird Resort Poro Point (Day 1)

Last weekend, I had a quick but fantastic vacation in La Union. I went to Thunderbird Resort Poro Point with my relatives. The resort boasts off a Santorini-inspired architecture as its main attraction. It's perfect for travelers like me who haven't yet gone to Greece but somehow want to have a taste of it.

We went to Thunderbird by private vehicle. It’s a seven-hour drive to reach the town of Poro Point.

Upon entrance, I immediately noticed the most-photographed blue dome where sits the spacious hotel lobby. The surrounding was neat and clean looking.

We booked a deluxe room. This room has two queen size beds including breakfast good for two. An extra person can be included that costs an additional 1,000php.

As I approached the reception to check in, surprisingly I received a beautiful treat: they upgraded our room to a deluxe suite. Thank you! We enjoyed the huge room!

After dropping our bags, we immediately looked for a place to eat. We decided have lunch at The Olives Restaurant that serves Mediterranean cuisine. There are three restaurants in Thunderbird. We chose this one since it’s the nearest. The two other restaurants are located at the casino.

There's a free bicycle rental for guests. We didn’t ride a bike though since we have just eaten.

Instead, we walked and had photos in front of the villas which I believe are for sale. These blue and white buildings contribute well to the Greek theme.

At sunset, we went to the beach where we sat and relaxed. Sadly, the sea is not advisable for swimming. It’s too rocky!

At night, we went to Thunderbird Casino. It's located outside and a hotel van can bring you there.
