When in Thailand: Ayutthaya

Ayutthaya is an old city with a lot of story of history to tell. Located at the northern part of Bangkok, it takes around 1.5 hours by car (or more, depending on the traffic) to see and relive the past in this ancient city. It used to be the capital of Thailand until the Burmese army captured this city in 1767 that destroyed a lot of Ayutthaya's historical treasures including the temples.

Here are two notable temples that you can visit:

1. Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon

 2. Wat Chaiwatthanaram

It was a very hot day in Ayutthaya. Make sure you come prepared for the sun. It's best to go here very early in the morning before 9:00AM or in the afternoon at around 5:00PM.
